Dedicated to my bestie Caitlin, who I love dearly. She’s been swamped lately, and needs the fluff. Hence, Klaine. And their baby girl. :)
“Ugh, Blaine, you have no idea how ready I am for you to come home.”
“I know, babe. I know. I miss you too.”
“It’s not even just the missing you that’s so hard. Mollie has been more than a handful.” Kurt readjusted the squirming baby on his hip while he tried to make dinner for one. “I dread to see what this child is going to get into when she’s actually mobile.”
“The good news is that we shouldn’t have to worry about that for another seven months or so. Hopefully we’ll be prepared for that.”
Kurt turned his eyes to gaze at his husband on the low quality Skype screen. He smirked. “If anything, you don’t have to worry about me ever leaving you. I don’t think I would make it as a single parent. It’s exhausting.”
“Don’t even talk like that,” Blaine reprimanded, but Kurt could see him trying to repress the smile threatening his lips. “I would hope that your reasons for staying married to me would number more than just beauty sleep.”
Mollie squirmed on Kurt’s hip. He readjusted and grabbed a pair of colorful plastic keys, dangling them in front of her face. She stared at the keys, entranced, before smiling just slightly and reaching out for them. Kurt could not keep from smiling like her. “Just when I think she can’t get any cuter—”
And Kurt’s breath caught in his throat as a lilting giggle fell from little Mollie’s lips.
He turned his face toward Blaine, but kept his eyes on the little girl in his arms. “Blaine, did you hear that?”
Mollie shook the keys and giggled again. Kurt laughed with her, delighted in his child’s voice. He finally turned to Blaine on the computer screen, who was looking at Mollie, hand covering his mouth in awe, eyes wide with what Kurt could only classify as adoration.
Kurt smiled warmly at his husband. “Wishing you were home right now?”
“You have no idea,” Blaine said quietly. “I can’t believe my job is keeping me from there right now…”
Kurt’s smile faded just slightly. “At least she did it while you were talking with me. And you’ll be home by tomorrow night.”
“I’m going to hog her all night, you realize?”
“If she keeps giggling like this, I might only be able to manage sharing her with you.”
Blaine rolled his eyes and laughed. “You were just complaining how you missed your beauty sleep.”
Mollie laughed beautifully, effectively stopping the playful argument at hand. Kurt noticed the slightly sad expression in Blaine’s eyes. “Hey,” he said softly, “just a little while longer. When you get home tomorrow night, you can play with her all you like. And I will do everything in my power to get her to laugh like this again.”
Kurt smiled as the light returned to Blaine’s eyes. “Have I told you lately how much I love you?”
“Not recently. But I won’t object to hearing it again.”
“I wish I could kiss you.”
“Tomorrow, dear.”
“Tomorrow can’t come soon enough.”

A/N: I got this idea a while ago, and meant to write it, but only just now got around to it. Sounds like every drabble/one-shot I write.
Mollie belongs to Caitlin (most of you probably know anyways). Most of the characters she’s developed have become my head canon, so I can’t write without them most of the time.
This is for you, bestie! Hope it brightened your day a little bit!
I now have serious concerns for both the health of my teeth and my ovaries.
