“What is that?”

Blaine jumped slightly from his spot next to Kurt on the bed, like he always did when Burt snuck up to the door to try to catch them doing something inappropriate. Kurt didn’t look up from his Vogue, flipping to the next page with a bored expression.

“What is what?”

Burt entered his room fully and walked over to the far wall, pointing at the print he’d put up earlier that day.

“Kurt, I didn’t give you money to redecorate so you could put up naked men on your walls.”

Kurt looked up, his face completely blank.

“I don’t have naked men on my walls.”

“Then what is that?”

Kurt turned and looked at the print before shaking his head and rolling his eyes.

“It’s art, Dad. It’s a tasteful study of shadow on the human form. It’s not like I have a portrait of some guy’s butt up there.”

Burt sighed and shook his head at his son, turning with his hands on his hips.

“What?” Kurt protested. “You don’t get mad at Finn for having half-torn Playboy posters tacked up on his walls.”

“Those didn’t cost fifty bucks, Kurt.”

“They also weren’t photographed for the purpose of art, no matter what Hugh Hefner says. And was his subscription over the past three years free?”

Burt opened his mouth to argue before shutting it ruefully, having done the math in his head.

“Fine,” he said, turning to leave. “Shouldn’t you be studying, anyway?”

Kurt smirked as he disappeared down the stairs, leaving the door wide open.

“Uh, Kurt.”

He turned to look at Blaine, who was looking at him with eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

“Yes, Blaine?”

“Are you ever going to tell your dad that’s a photo you took of me after we—”

“Nope.”
